Presentation on Demystifying the Media
I gave a talk at for the Entrepreneurial Woman's Network Connecticut Chapter yesterday. I thought some of you might appreciate the presentation. There's a lot of good data on what people are and are not doing online as well as some ideas of how you should be thinking about the media for your business.

March 11th Fairfield/Westchester Media Professionals Networking Evening
We'll be holding our next evening media professionals networking event on March 11th at Norwalk at Meigas Restaurant (10 Wall Street, Norwalk). In addition to our usual open evening of networking, we're also using it as a way to share work and will holding a screening of 1-2 short films from members in Meigas' private event room. Our first formal roundtable discussion was a great discuss. I certainly enjoyed it but I'm basing that on what participants told me. We had 27 people (yes, I know I said 18 max...I just can't say no) ranging from management consulting and finance to large media companes and media startups to proessional services...all with a media background. The very lively discussion and debate quickly went from the connected TV to how marketing and media can manage and monetize a full, three screens strategy. Within the next few weeks we will send out a short report that outlines some of the key insights drawn from the discussion. |

New England Startup Camp is a year-round collaborative for digital media startups and the people and organizations who can help them achieve success. On January 30th we'll be doing our first breakfast roundtable on how the connected HDTVs hitting the market this year may open new opportunities for the digital media industry. With everything from streaming video from Netflix to Yahoo News and gaming widgets, these televisions provide a new platform for content development and distribution. |

December networking dinner wrap-up and what's next in 2009
We had a terrific group of about 30-40 at last night's dinner gathering in Norwalk. It was a very lively crowd made up of startups (Beeing), to content creators (actors, directors, head of a southern rock band) to investors, marketers and technologists showed up - all the parts of the digital media ecosystem.
