You may have noticed a few changes in the Web site over the last few weeks. Thanks to Tom Boone (www.tomboone.com), we've been working on a site layout that is more functional and organized.
The current changes are designed to have a separate blog section (to which I will try and post quick updates on a regular basis), member and network news section and events section and calendar. We're almost done with this phase which will be topped with a new logo.
Right now, you can use the site as a news resource and register for the newsletter (at the top right). If you registere as a user, you'll be able to fill out a basic profile and contact other users via the site. Don't worry, by keeping contact to a Web form and limiting the number of times you can use the form a day there should not be a spam problem.
We also have the groups function going. The main purpose of groups is for us to communicate with people in particular categories. For example, if we do an entrepreneurs workshop we'll only send out a note to people in that group. However, there is also the ability to easily community with others in the group by posting to group forums. People belonging to group forums can then opt to get summaries of posts.
Next, we'll be working to implement a more robust groups and networking function so that the site can eventually be a tool to connect with the right executives in the regional digital media industry without worring about an avalance of email invites.
As always, your comments and suggestions are welcome.
